In 2023, sales of electric vehicles (EVs) passed the 1.6 million mark.

To visualize where EVs are the most popular, Visual Capitalist's Bruno Venditti maps the number of registered EVs per 100,000 people by state as of June 2024.

The vehicle registration data is sourced from the U.S. Department of Energy, while population data is from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Only all-electric vehicles are included on the map.

Halliburton Company, the world's second-largest oil service provider and a major player in global fracking, has reportedly fallen victim to a cyberattack, according to sources speaking with Reuters. Insiders revealed that the cyber incident had disrupted operations at the company's Houston headquarters and affected some of its global networks.

Halliburton has neither confirmed nor denied the cyber incident but acknowledged an issue affecting some of its systems.

The Italian Coast Guard has confirmed the recovery of the bodies of British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch, Morgan Stanley chairman Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judith Bloomer, Clifford Chance lawyer Christopher Morvillo, and his wife Neda Morvillo from the wreckage of the Bayesian superyacht, Sky News reported. The yacht was hit by a tornado and capsized early Monday.
