Tesla shares jumped in premarket trading in New York after Bloomberg reported that Beijing had given Tesla the 'greenlight' to roll out its driver-assistance system, known as "Full Self-Driving," or FSD, in the world's largest car market.

Sources say Tesla will partner with Chinese tech giant Baidu for mapping and navigation software to support FSD. Tesla also has multiple data security and privacy requirements that satisfy the country's regulators.  (more…)

Elon Musk Makes Surprise Beijing Visit As Tesla Seeks Full Self-Driving Rollout  | ZeroHedge

Elon Musk arrived in Beijing on Sunday and met with Premier Li Qiang, one week after postponing a trip to India. A source familiar with the visit told Reuters that Musk was expected to discuss the rollout of Full Self-Driving software and permission to transfer data overseas with top Chinese officials.

NHTSA Probes Tesla Autopilot Again After 20 Crashes Since Update Remedy | ZeroHedge

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating Tesla's Autopilot (again) to determine if the over-the-air update to the automated driving system was enough to keep drivers on the road.
